It’s September 15th and time for another new episode of BookBanter.  On this episode I’ll be talking with bestselling author and award-winning graphic novel writer Mike Carey.  Carey has worked on a number of graphic novel projects, including the long-running Lucifer series, as well as a number of X-Men comics.  He is currently working on his latest comic book series, The Unwritten.  He is also the author of a popular book series featuring the exorcist Felix Castor.  The first two books — The Devil You Know and Vicious Circle — are now available in paperback, with the third — Dead Men’s Boots — recently released in hardcover.

So sit back and relax — unless you’re going to be listening to the latest episode in the car and you’re driving! — and find out from Mike Carey what he uses to write with, how he got into comics, what he thinks of “punting,” and everything else going on his life.

To purchase any of the Felix Castor series, simply click on the book covers below:

It’s September 1st and fall is around the corner (though everywhere is still pretty much melting with the heat), and in this new episode of BookBanter I’m very proud to present debut author Seanan McGuire and the first book in her October Daye series, Rosemary and Rue.  Just imagine The Dresden Files only set it in the great, noire city of San Francisco with a strong and impressive female protagonist named Toby, and accept the fact that there are portals between our world and the world of Faerie.  Need I say more?  Okay, maybe a little.  Toby is a private investigator who helps out fae nobles when they’re in trouble and need a mystery solving.

I got the chance to meet Seanan and sit down and talk with her.  Check out the interview and find out how Seanan came up with Toby, the series, and why she started writing.  Keep listening to  the end and you can find out what she thinks about iguanas and how they relate to writing.

To purchase Rosemary and Rue or the new anthology, Grants Pass, featuring one of her stories, click on the covers below:
