For this new episode of BookBanter, I had the chance to talk with graphic artist and writer Josh Neufeld.  Neufeld has penned such comics as Keyhole with Dean Haspiel and The Vagabonds; with A Few Perfect Hours (and Other Stories From Southeast Asia & Central Europe) he was awarded a Xeric Foundation grant.  Neufeld began the genesis for his latest project when he worked for the Red Cross after the catastrophe of Hurricane Katrina, resulting in the brilliant AD New Orleans: After the Deluge which will be released on August 18th.  The book tells the incredible story of six people who experienced Hurricane Katrina on a very physical and personal level.  Neufeld also talks about how he got into comics with Harvey Pekar and American Splendor, as well as his whole creation process.  To purchase a copy of AD New Orleans After the Deluge click on the book cover below.

Welcome to August 1st and the next episode of BookBanter.  In this episode I’ll be talking with bestselling author Douglas Preston, who is the author of a number of books, including Blasphemy, Tyrannosaur Canyon, and The Monster of Florence, as well as coauthoring with Lincoln Child books such as Relic, Reliquary, and Riptide.  Their latest book, Cemetery Dance, addresses the subjects of zombies, Obeah, and Vodou.  Douglas will be talking about how they came up with the idea for the book, the unique writing style that he and Child employ in collaborating, and their current, unusual research project for their next book.

If you’d like to purchase any of the books mentioned above, simply click on any of the covers below:

The interview will be followed by my reviews for the following books (again, click on the covers to purchase the books):
